Go’s Kinzi Jones explored The Children’s Museum new traveling exhibit, which is part of their landscape all year

The Children’s Museum of Jordan is a gift to the Kingdom’s kids, providing them with a world-class venue for hands-on interactive learning. If you’re not one of the more than half a million people who have visited since its opening in 2007, now is the time. The museum’s mission is to nurture curious children who love to learn, and the center accomplishes this goal by providing kids with an enriching experience through educative play to encourage self discovery of the world.

Kids love color, but the one dimensional scientific definitions can be boring through books alone. The 15 interactive components of Color Play make the science of color and light a fascinating thing. I invited a couple of friends and their children for the kid-test, and the brilliance of the child-centered focus was immediately evident.

Experiencing light through prisms, motion, and the rooms of the Color Playhouse kept the kids happy and busy. My daughter was enthralled with what happens to color in 3D motion with the exhibit’s globe full of colorful feathers. Zaina Steityeh, The Children’s Museum’s Communications Manager, explained that the museum, through its interactive exhibits, allows children to learn through multiple methods, something that has also influenced the way I approach learning as a parent. My daughter and I both learned something new with Color Play, and bonded through the mutual discovery. This exhibit is suitable for kids ages four to ten, so plan a play-date now!
